Selecting your EQ's

1. What are the difficulties that the elderly encounter daily?
This question is essential for the elderly challenge. This is so as we have to find out the difficulties they face in their daily lives, so we will be able to help them try to overcome these difficulties.
2. Why are they facing these difficulties?
This is essential too as we have to find out why are they facing difficulties so we would be able to help them overcome them more easily.
3. How can we reduce the number of difficulties they face daily?
This is also an essential question as this can help us think of how to help the elderly and make their lives more convenient.

Holiday work - Part 1: Understanding the ‘The Elderly Challenge’

These are the four key recommendations of the report
a)Providing a variety of housing for the elderly to live in so as to fulfill their needs.
b)Public Buses with priority seats specially for the elderly.
c)When the government have budget surpluses,it can be used to top up the elderly Medisave accounts so that the elderly will have to money to see doctor and/or by medicine.
d)Organize activities and programmes for the elderly to take part in so that they can learn how to live a lifestyle they would want to have.

The CAI recommends that families become more involved with the elderly.

The ministries will look at the recommended solutions and will arrange the cost of the solutions, making it cost effective.

Firstly, help them in any difficulties, troubles they are in despite our 'minus' factors like being late, etc.
Secondly, we must not  laugh or giggle about their disadvantages, even if they are different from us which is true, especially the wheelchair bound elderly.
Thirdly, we can perform acts of kindness towards them such as giving up our seats on the bus or MRT.

Bad Designs

Bad Designs

The Invention on the right is a water bottle that relies on pressure to spray water into the person's mouth.Perfect if you are trying to drink water in a hurry but when gassy drinks are put inside, the bottle releases pressure at random times when the pressure build up inside the bottle. As a result, when tilted upside down with gassy drinks inside, the   drink in the bottle spray out uncontrollably or just sprays the drink into the air at random times, causing drinks to be all over the place.

The solution is to change the nozzle of the bottle to ones that would not spray the drinks all over the place at random times when gassy drinks are put inside.

ADMT Lesson 1: Personal Reflection

1) To me ADMT means designing something that makes things easier for the world.
2) Without ADMT, our lives would become very boring as there would be no Technology or Art.
3) I want to learn how to design things as well as become more creative.
4) Without technology, we would ride bicycles(like the one in the picture)to get to places.
